Energy Smart Canada is celebrating the completion of a 28.5 kW solar installation at the Readymade Community Association, made possible in part by the support of the local community.
The project began with a fundraising gala in November 2025 called A Night for Light. The event brought people together to raise funds for the solar installation, demonstrating the community’s commitment to supporting Readymade and investing in a more energy-efficient future.
The solar panels were installed in July 2026, marking an exciting milestone for the association. Energy Smart was proud to see the project come to life and to witness the community support that helped make it possible.
To celebrate the installation and thank the people behind the project, Energy Smart sponsored a free barbecue at Readymade in October 2026. The Energy Smart team cooked for the Readymade team and other attendees who came together to celebrate the accomplishment. The event was another opportunity to recognize the people who contribute their time and resources to keeping community spaces thriving.
Energy Smart has also sponsored other events at Readymade over the years, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting local organizations and community initiatives throughout Southern Alberta.
