Energy Smart Canada was proud to partner with the Lethbridge Rotary Club as the title sponsor of this year’s annual LobsterFest, an event dedicated to bringing the community together while raising funds for local projects and initiatives.
LobsterFest is one of the Lethbridge Rotary Club’s signature fundraising events, with proceeds supporting community projects that make a meaningful difference throughout Lethbridge and the surrounding area. This year’s event was a huge success, raising a total of $73,000 for Rotary community projects.
As part of Energy Smart’s sponsorship, the company also donated a 5kW solar package valued at approximately $15,000, which was auctioned off during the event. The package includes everything needed to help the winning recipient generate their own clean, renewable energy.
Energy Smart was pleased to attend the event and be part of an evening that celebrated community, generosity and the impact that local organizations can have when they come together to support a common goal.
The winning bid for the solar package went to Tony and Vicky Vanden Hoek. Vicky is the owner of Honker’s Pub and Eatery in Lethbridge and is well known for her involvement in and commitment to the local community.
“We were especially excited to see the solar package go to Tony and Vicky,” said Energy Smart’s owner, Rudy Reger. “Vicky does so much for the community here, and we’re really excited that this solar package will be going to someone who gives so much back to the people around her.”
Energy Smart is now looking forward to getting to work on the Vanden Hoeks’ solar installation and helping them put their new system to use.
